Painting a Portrait from Old Photos

I am always honored when a client asks me to bring to life old photos in a custom painting. It is no easy task however and reuires alot of time, careful planning, and research. For example, this polaroid I was painting from was a beautiful memory captured between a son and father on a hunting trip but some of the detail has been lost or blurred. Upon request, the client provided several other photos so I could study and draw a good likeness before I started the painting. After several hours of just drawing, I felt confident with the composition and started putting paint to canvas. It turned out beautifully and the client was over the moon to my delight.
