St Henry Catholic Church/ Wedding Painting

In Celebration of Hallie & Will!

A picture of the couple with their grandmother and their live wedding painting by the end of the night!

Recently, it was my pleasure to paint Hallie and Will's wedding at St Henry Catholic Church in the beautiful Belle Meade area! Hallie and Will are instantly loveable and their family and friends were so warm and welcoming.

During our phone consultation prior to the wedding, we discussed the details of the screen they wanted. They chose the sweet and symbolic moment when they exit the ceremony hand in hand down the aisle together in the presence of their loved ones. Hallie expressed she wanted to feature guests but loosely painted in the background and a light and airy color palette.

I started visiting the ceremony hall and taking reference photos for painting and set up in the reception hall to start the background. I showed up and started painting about four hours before the ceremony. When the ceremony started I slipped into the back row and waited for the perfect moment when they were walking down the aisle to take more reference photos. Once I had a reference for the couple's pose and likeness I started painting them! It took about two more hours to paint their figures in.

At last, the amazing live band announced the grand reveal for the couple to enjoy a special moment viewing it together!

Now it sits on an easel to dry in my studio before i can add detail, varnish and deliver it to its forever home!
